HOW MANY RUNNERS ARE ON THE TEAM ROSTER?

Each local Colorado Springs brewery may choose up to fifteen runners per team NLT 1 Jan 2019. The roster must be received on or before this date. Chosen runners will compete as members of the brewery team for the entire calendar year. Two substitutes are allowed during the year, at the captain’s discretion, however the runner being replaced may not return to the roster for the remainder of the season. If a team does not have a full roster by 1 Jan 2019, additions may continue to be made, although runners added after 1 Jan will not be able to accrue retroactive points for races previously run.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN A TEAM?

It is $10 per runner to join for the season. Runners are also encouraged to join the Pikes Peak Road Runners in order to receive discounts on qualifying races as well as receiving perks of PPRR membership, including the monthly newsletter. Additionally, runners may be responsible for purchasing their own team jersey, if the brewery does not supply them and the team has not acquired a sponsor.

t

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO JOIN A TEAM?

Runners of any age may join. However, runners under the age of 15 years old may not run the Fall Series and must run the Kids Series in order to earn points. Additionally, any runner under the age of 21 is ineligible for any beer awards should their team win the Cup.

CAN I GET MY RACE ADDED TO THE CALENDAR?

The Brewers’ Cup is in partnership with the Pikes Peak Road Runners and as such, generally only runs races sponsored by PPRR. With approximately 36 races already on the calendar over a 11 month period, we are no longer seeking additions to our already demanding competition schedule. You may advertise a non-PPRR race on our Facebook page if you are willing to offer discounts to the runners or provide a small sponsorship fee to the Brewers’ Cup as a whole.

THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN, BUT I'M NOT A RUNNER - CAN I STILL JOIN?

Yes! The Brewers’ Cup scoring system grants points for each team member that completes a race, no matter what the speed. Even if you are a walker, you are as valuable to the team as most runners. Consistency is the key to winning!

HOW DO I JOIN A TEAM?

Most of the Brewers’ Cup news and recruiting is done via our Facebook page. Team captains sometime post when they are looking for runners or you are welcome to join our page and make a post stating you are looking for a team! Also, you can visit your local brewery and ask if they have a team and if so, they can put you in touch with the team captain to inquire about openings.
